FILIPPO DE PISIS
Luigi Filippo Tibertelli, was the original name of Filippo De Pisis (Ferrara, 1896- Milan, 1956). He was an Italian artist and writer, one of the major interpreters of Italian painting of the first half of the twentieth century. He spent his childhood in a small and Catholic environment of the provincial nobility, receiving his first training from private teachers. From an early age he started to follow painting and drawing classes. It’s painting ideed that brought him travelling around Europe between London, Paris mainly.
He finally based in Milan. The images that the artist paints are more than drawn, they evoke a continuous poetic climate. This can be in particular appreciated by the Parisian and Londoners views, the Venetian navies, and from nudes and large bouquets of flowers and Nature Morte.
